- THE ROLE;

  • As Business Development Manager, you'll be selling our clients market leading range of Green roof, blue roof and green/blue roof drainage systems, used in both commercial new build and retrofit applications.
  • As BDM, you'll largely be covering the UK, with the focus on the major cities of England and Wales, and occasionally Ireland. 
  • You'll be gaining specifications with Architects, specifiers, engineers, including conducting CPD seminars, promoting their patented range of blue, green and blue/green roofing drainage solutions.
  • You'll then track the project through the Main contractor, maintain your specification with the roofing contractor (or break a competitor's specification) and then back-sell through your specialist heavy-side builders merchant, roofing merchant or stockist.
  • Our clients solution is ideal for flat roofing drainage systems, providing flood control, energy efficiency through the improved insulation that the system offers, plus rainwater harvesting and irrigation benefits, which is a requirement of the London Plan.
  • As Business Development Manager, you'll have a huge opportunity to drive the growth and strategic development of these Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) especially as Local planning guidelines in London increasingly recommend the use of Blue/green infrastructure as part of the roof build. 
  • As BDM, you'll typically be targeting new build and retrofit commercial office projects, hotel and leisure projects, apartment blocks- typically any building over 4 storeys high.
  • The order values of each project typically range from £30k- £150k. 
  • This is a national role, so London, Birmingham or Manchester locations would be great, although our client is relatively open on where the candidate lives.

- THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE; 

  • The successful BDM will ideally have a track record of project led sales success in the roofing/ flat roofing arena, or closely aligned in the building envelope arena.
  • You will be a confident, likeable, credible sales professional, capable of gaining specifications, or breaking a competitor's specification. You'll be commercially astute, able to then close the order with the contractor and build great relationships with your resellers. 
  • You will ideally be Degree educated and membership of relevant bodies, such as CIOB, RIBA, NFRC would be great.
  • You'll be prepared to stay away occasionally.
  • Career focussed, with a growth mindset.

-THE REMUNERATION;

  • £47,000- £52,000 basic salary (dependent on experience).
  • Up to circa £9k pa bonus potential (quarterly payments). 
  • Executive Electric or Hybrid co car or £6600 per annum car allowance.
  • 25 days holiday, rising to 28 days after 3 years, plus Bank holidays.
