THE COMPANY;
- Our client is a growing developer and fabricator of garage door equipment, control units, operators, barriers, roller shutter and awning operators, access systems and smart home technology.
- THE ROLE;
- Our client is currently looking to recruit a hands on Warehouse Supervisor, to help maximise the productivity of the warehouse.
- As Warehouse Supervisor, you will maintain and oversee the inventory and supplies by ordering, receiving, storing and delivering items in a timely manner.
- You will manage production workflow, from the shop floor to dispatch, including quality control checks.
- You will manage, lead, supervise & coach 2 warehouse operatives, as well as recruit, train, guide and evaluate any new warehouse employees as the company continues it's growth.
- As Warehouse Supervisor, you will manage the picking and packing process, work to improve processes and make suggestions for productivity improvements.
- You will determine and track warehouse KPIs and make sure that health and safety procedures and regulations are being adhered to.
- As a company with an international presence, you will collaborate and share best practice with your colleagues abroad and will on occasion travel overseas for training.
- You will ensure the facility equipment and machinery is properly maintained.
- You will be supplying approx 1000 different product lines, largely into industrial and residential garage door specialist installers, with spares and your fabrication service being a large part of your offering.
- THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE;
- The successful Warehouse Supervisor will have at least 2 years+ experience in a people management and process management.
- You will ideally have a counterbalance and reach Forklift operators certification.
- You will have problem solving skills, good time management and be a good team player, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- You will be IT literate with very good training provided on the inhouse system.
- You will report to the MD & have an ambitious attitude, as this role could lead to Operations Management in the next 18-24 months as the business grows.
- Related experience, either in electrical, mechanical, light manufacturing, doors, door gear, process or logistics would be fantastic.
- The ability to set high standards and processes for your team of 2 or 3 warehouse operatives to follow.
- You will be prepared to commute to their warehouse in the York area.
- THE REMUNERATION;
- Basic salary of £25,000- £30,000 dependent on experience.
- 25 days holiday, plus 8 Bank holidays
- Nest pension contribution
- Death in service.
- Quarterly team events, with paid for drinks, meals out etc. Some overseas travel for training.
- Monday to Thursday- 8.00am- 4.30pm and Friday 8.00am- 4.00pm with 30 minutes daily lunch break. No expected night shifts, overtime or weekend work.
