-THE ROLE;

  • As Specification Manager, you'll be developing and growing our clients ranges of slimline and fire rated steel sections used in the premium commercial market.  
  • These profiles are used in the fabrication of internal and external doors, windows and screen applications, often on Listed buildings, industrial buildings, hospital renovations, universities commercial offices, museums, art galleries etc. 
  • As specification led Business Development Manager, you will be introducing tailor made steel windows and door profiles, that are durable, sustainable, fire rated and completely recyclable. 
  • You will be educating and gaining specifications with architects, specifiers and interior designers and ultimately generating the business for your network of fabricators. At the point that the main contractor is appointed, you'll then pass it over to your commercial team. 
  • The projects that you gain could be anywhere, but your time will be spent largely in London and the Home Counties calling on Architectural practices, discussing upcoming projects, delivering CPDs etc, although you may on occasion see an architect in Cambridge or Maidstone or Portsmouth, as the area does cover the Wash to Southampton. 
  • Projects can range in value from £10k- £200k, with an aov on material cost being circa £25k.
  • You will be targeted on specifications gained and CPDs delivered.

-THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE; 

  • The successful Specification Manager must have experience in specification selling in the construction industry. Excellent product training is offered, so you may have sold anything that has both technical and aesthetic qualities, for example floor coverings, ceilings, lighting, partitioning, doors, timber, lifts, escalators.
  • You will have good contacts with architects, specifiers and designers. 
  • You will be a good team player, IT literate, confident at presenting and a good networker.
  • You will be excited to join a small, but ambitious and growing company, where you can shape the direction of your role.
  • You will be working from home when not on the road seeing customers, with meetings at their office once or twice per month.

-THE REMUNERATION; 

  • Basic salary of £42,000- £47,000 dependent on experience.
  • Annual bonus based on personal and company performance of circa £3k.
  • Choice of hybrid company car
