Internal Sales Executive- Midlands, Steel Galvaniser

THE ROLE; 

  • As Internal Sales Executive you will be working in a busy sales office, alongside the Sales Manager, Sales Office supervisor, Sales Executive, Sales and Transport Administrator and Transport Supervisor. 
  • The role will involve telephone sales to both warm established accounts, with several thousand businesses on the CRM, as well as targeting new customers.
  • As Internal Sales Executive, you will be selling the company's steel finishing service, which includes hot dip galvanising, powder coating, shot blasting providing corrosion protection for steel products. 
  • You will be selling to a broad range of customers across industries such as construction, agriculture, railways, transport, infrastructure, sports and leisure. Typical projects include the galvanising of fencing, street lighting columns, railings, road bridges, street furniture. In essence any product made of steel that needs protecting from corrosion.
  • Our client offers a collection and delivery service, with their own fleet of lorries, so you'll also be putting together quotations and updating customers on transport and progress. 
  • This is a fast paced environment where they typically turnaround the order and get the steel product picked up, galvanised and returned to the customer inside 24- 48 hours. 
  • The Inside sales executive will work to targets, which could be up to 80 phone calls per day, some being reactive and many being proactive.
  • This is a relationship building role, where professional persistence and going the extra mile for the customer is in the company DNA.
  • You will be based from their branch, with access to parking and good public transport links.
  • This role is Monday to Friday, 8.00am- 4.30pm, with 30 minutes for lunch.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE; 

  • The successful candidate will be a positive, engaging professional, with the ability to provide high levels of customer care over the phone.
  • You will be enthusiastic, confident, able to work under pressure and be able to multi-task.
  • You will be a good listener, IT literate, with good mathematical skills including a clear understanding of sizes and dimensions. 
  • Ideally you'll have previous internal sales/telesales/inside sales or customer service experience, although a recent graduate will also be considered. 
  • An interest in engineering would be beneficial, although excellent training and support is offered, including time spent learning how to galvanise.
  • This could lead to a Field sales role within 1 year to 18 months if you have that ambition.

THE REMUNERATION; 

  • £24,000- £26,000 dependent on skills and experience.
  • 33 days annual holiday including statutory days.
  • Auto enrolment pension.

  • Bonus scheme typically of up to 10% based on branch and company performance. 
  • Great training and the opportunity to progress into Field sales in time.
