Does the thought of elevating your career by joining an innovative solar shading solutions specialist excite you? Do you have good contacts with facade engineers & architects and specifiers? Due to ambitious growth plans, our client is looking for a specification led Business Development Manager, offering up to £50k basic, open ended commission on all sales & a realistic year 1 ote of £60k+, with considerably more in Year 2 and beyond. THE ROLE; 

  • Due to growth, our client is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager, Specification Manager, to promote their bespoke solar shading solutions, used in applications from skylights/roof lights, to huge atriums. 
  • As Business Development Manager, Specification Manager, you'll be building strong relationships with facade consultants and architects and specifiers, promoting our clients engineered solutions, across internal and external solar shading requirements. 
  • These specialist blinds, which can be motorised and tied into a Building management system are used in a multitude of projects that can help regulate heat transfer and glare, as well as create energy savings. 
  • Projects can range from a few thousand pounds, to millions, with our client having won many prestigious projects, such as luxury hotels, commercial offices, museums, conference centres, indoor retail/shopping centres, casinos, universities, leisure centres and residential homes.
  • As Business Development Manager, Specification Manager, you'll be supported by a team of engineers and internal project trackers and your job will be to help facade consultants and architects create inspiring spaces. 
  • The majority of your time will be spent in London, although you will visit other large cities such as Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and Leeds promoting your solutions to architects, facade consultants, design and build contractors and main contractors, on projects both in the UK and Internationally. 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE; 

  • The successful Business Development Manager, Specification Manager will ideally understand the facade/building envelope world, such as cladding, insulation panels, curtain walling or a mechanical, electronic or engineering type product, through specification. Great training is offered, so experience of selling other products through specification will also be considered.
  • You'll have evidence of having won projects across the commercial, residential, leisure, hotels, retail and hospitality arenas.
  • You'll be able to read and interpret manufacturing and construction drawings.
  • You'll have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • You'll be able to demonstrate specification writing, be IT literate and be adaptable, flexible and capable of prioritising and managing tasks in a dynamic environment. 
  • You will have existing relationships with Tier 1 architects, facade consultants, engineers and contractors. 

THE COMPANY; 

  • Our client is a multimillion £ turnover shading systems specialist, with an exciting 5 year plan. 
  • They are highly respected in the industry, with an enviable list of projects won over the last few years.

THE REMUNERATION;

  • £45,000-£50,000 Basic salary (dependent on experience)
  • Uncapped quarterly commission of 1.5% of all sales, plus 5% of salary annual bonus based on soft skills and attitude. Realistic Yr 1 ote of £60k+
  • £6k car allowance.
  • 21 days holiday, rising with service, plus 8 Bank holidays.
  • Matching pension contributions from employer and employee up to 5%
  • Subsidised option for you and family on health cover.
  • Company credit card for entertaining clients and expenses.
