-THE ROLE; 

  • As Business Development Manager, you will be involved in promoting a broad range of commercial heating solutions to Mechanical and Electrical contractors, plumbers, installers and then back-selling through National and Independent Builders Merchants, Plumbers Merchants, distributors and stockists, working on public and private sector new build and retrofit projects. 
  • Selling all types of heating and hot water products, used in hotels, commercial offices, sports stadia, leisure centres, high rise buildings, hospitals, care homes, schools, universities etc. 
  • Your product offering as Area Sales Manager will include floor standing boilers, wall hung boilers, condensing boilers, water heaters, plant rooms, underfloor heating, heat pumps etc. 
  • Projects will range from £10k+, up to several hundred thousands, up to for an off site prefabricated plant room, millions of pounds. 
  • As Business Development Manager, you will work in tandem with a colleague from the specification team, who will liaise with you once they've got the project from the M&E consultant stage, to your stage of M&E contractor and you'll often go on joint client visits together.
  • You will be covering the Leeds, LS and Bradford, BD area, including the following postcodes; PR, Preston, BB, Blackburn, WF, Wakefield, FY, Blackpool and HD, Huddersfield. 
  • You will be targeted to conduct at least 10 face to face meetings per week across your multi brand offering of products and will be extremely well supported by a very experienced team of colleagues.
  • This is a mix of account management and new business, so you must be comfortable with both.

-THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE; 

  • The successful BDM will be technically strong, ideally from the commercial heating market, such as boilers, underfloor heating, heat pumps, HVAC, controls etc, although experience in domestic heating will also be considered, as will any type of Building services background. Our client will consider a wildcard from other parts of the construction industry if you have a winning attitude and growth mindset.
  • You will ideally have experience in the sales environment, although an individual who has been on the tools, with a positive, solutions based approach and good communication skills, will also be considered. 
  • You will ideally have a good understanding of the structure of Local Authorities as our client is very strong in the education and health sectors. An understanding of County Council frameworks and the different project contract types, so that you understand the influencers and key decision makers is important, although excellent training and support is offered.
  • You'll be organised, proactive, a good networker and strong with keeping your CRM fully up to date. 
  • A confident presenter and good team player, collaborative in your approach.
  • A sociable individual, as client entertainment is part of the role. 
  • A good influencer, who embraces the visions and values of the company.

-THE REMUNERATION;

  • Offering a basic salary of £40K-£45K (dependent on experience)
  • Bi-annual commission giving a realistic £10k on top in year 1, which is uncapped
