- THE COMPANY;

- Our client is a leading manufacturer of HVAC products, which include air conditioning & close control units for the IT cooling market, Data centre market.

- THE ROLE;

- Our client is looking for a project led Business Development Manager, to sell the company's IT cooling solutions, used for server rooms and data centres. 

- The Business Development Manager will sell these energy efficient close control solutions, which cover chilled water, evaporative cooling, mechanical and compressor based cooling etc, used in the creation of new data rack enclosures, so in essence an OEM sell on new build and retrofit projects. They also offer a complete maintenance package.

- As Business Development Manager you will be meeting with engineers, project managers and buyers of server and date rack manufacturers, helping them with the design and selling the features, advantages and benefits of your server room cooling solutions and air conditioning, which are critical to the running of any successful business. This is essence is an engineered solution. 

- You will be looking after and developing relationships with approximately 30 key data centre manufacturers, although you'll have access to a database of many hundreds of potential customers. 

- You will put the design together and also target M&E consultants, M&E contractors, Facilities Management companies & End users on projects, which can range from 2 months from initial enquiry to order, up to 5 years.

- Order values are typically in the £35k-£50k bracket, although can be considerably larger. 

- Leads will be provided, along with subscription to H&V Index, giving access to all of the consultancies, contractors and data centre manufacturers on your patch.

- You will be covering Scotland and the North East of England, as far south as Newcastle.

- THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE;

- The successful Business Development Manager will be technically strong, with an engineering qualification and able to track it from enquiry, to putting the design together, to then selling to the consultant. 

- HVAC, ups, Data rooms, close control, air conditioning, or data cabling type experience, where you are able to have technical conversations, get involved in the design and build of these data centres, in essence, present an engineered solution. 

- You will be able to show stability and progression in your career and have the confidence and ability to sell a premium priced solution. 

- THE REMUNERATION;

- £40,000- £60,000 Basic salary, dependent on experience.

- Open ended commission, paid monthly, giving a realistic £12K on top.

- BMW, Mercedes or Audi type company car, or car allowance, mobile, laptop, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, health cover after qualifying period, pension.
