THE ROLE;
- As Area Sales Manager, you will be field/home based covering the North East (Yorkshire/Humberside), selling the company's range of specialist surveying equipment, the product range is vast but includes products such as Total Stations, GPS, drones, mapping solutions and Specialist Scanners.
- This is a consultative sell dealing with a real mix of people including Surveyors, Archaeologists, Rail, Highways Industry, Police and Infrastructure. A mix of New Business and Account Management, dealing with orders that could be under £1k to £60k+, with an average of £5k. Sales cycles can range from 2 weeks to 6 months, with a realistic year 1 target. Commission is paid on all sales on an escalator basis. The more you sell, the bigger your % for commission.
- As Area Sales Manager, you will be required to demonstrate the products on a regular basis (4 demonstrations a week), field based 4 days per week with 1 day at home doing admin duties. When out in the field you will be expected to attend 8+ client meetings per week and make 20 prospect calls per week.
Excellent support, back up and progression and their training is highly regarded within the industry.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE;
- Either sold Surveying equipment, capital equipment or plant, or a premium priced construction or engineering product.
- Our client will also be keen to on a Surveyor, site manager/project manager with a personality and hunger to move into sales
- You will have a good technical understanding, be a good communicator, able to hunt and farm.
- You must be happy and able to demonstrate the products
- You will be chameleon like, as you are selling and at times hiring, to a very varied customer base.
THE REMUNERATION;
- Basic salary of circa £35K+ (dependent on experience)
- Attractive commission scheme paid quarterly on all sales. The commission % rises at certain markers, rewarding high achievers. On target earnings of circa £15k ontop- Top earners are doubling their basic salary!
