THE COMPANY;

-Our client is a well established, ambitious, highly regarded distributor of plastic and acrylic PVC sheeting, boards, foams, aluminium composite, wrapping film, adhesives, tapes, packaging etc- literally hundreds of products in the range. Serving the signage, automotive, building, construction, engineering and commercial interior markets.

THE ROLE;

- As Area Sales Manager, you'll be managing and developing strong relationships with 100-150 current accounts, across all types of sectors, from builders, roofers, car wrapping companies, graphic and signage companies, point of sale and point of purchase makers, drainage companies, small independent builders merchants, fabricators, dry liners- the list goes on. 

- 60% new business focused and 40% account management.

- You will also be targeting new companies, many of which will be located on trading and industrial estates. As Area Sales Manager, you'll be finding out what markets your customers serve and really support their businesses.

- You will be selling sheets of PVC and acrylic, offering a cutting service, or boring holes for them and very much trading, as this is an oil based product, where the price fluctuates. You'll be covering South East London and Kent, attending 4-5 quality meetings a day.

- The Area Sales Manager will be supported by 5 internal sales people, who will also generate appointments for you and follow up on quotations etc, so you'll be working in a great team environment. 

- Clients will be spending at least £5k per month each and you will be targeted on increasing the number of accounts and the spend. The Area Sales Manager will be given the authority to negotiate prices and do deals and as you are rewarded on profit share, this will really develop your business acumen.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE; 

- The successful Area Sales Manager could have come from any field sales background, as long as you are able to demonstrate sales success.

- This would suit someone with a distribution/builders merchant sales background, or someone who is used to cold calling on industrial estates, finding the decision maker, being persistent and building up the trust and relationship.

- You will be a good team player and sociable, as you are encouraged to get to know your customers on a personal level, by taking good clients on golf trips, go-karting, trade events abroad, clay pigeon shooting, football etc, so lots of treats in this role.

- You will be good at account management and new business, be able to up-sell and cross sell and be able to pick up the technical aspects of the role.

- You will be a great networker.

THE REMUNERATION;

- Basic salary of £34,000- £40,000 dependent on experience.

- Annual profit related pay, which could run into several thousand pounds and is open ended.

- Car allowance of circa £7500

- 22 days holiday, plus bank holidays, which rises with service.

- Pension, health cover after a qualifying period, mobile, laptop.
